Job summary

Northern Biomedical Research Inc. in Muskegon, MI is seeking a Senior Necropsy Technician to lead necropsy operations, maintain lab facilities and equipment, and mentor junior technicians. You will liaise with multiple departments to ensure timely study completion.

The role involves training, advanced euthanasia, tissue processing and sample collection, data review, and study support. LATG certification is preferred; GLP knowledge is required; lifting and long shifts may be needed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED with 3 years experience or bachelor's with 4 years experience
• LATG certification preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; able to learn additional apps
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Knowledge of GLP and animal care regulations
• Understanding of study design and protocol endpoints
• Ability to produce high-quality tissues/samples consistently
• Strong time management and resilience

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train Necropsy Technicians I & II with records
• Advanced euthanasia including drug admin and catheter placement
• Prosect tissues/organs including DRG and spinal cord
• Advanced sample collection (urine, blood, CSF)
• Advance necropsy procedures and tissue processing (brain/eye)
• Review daily study data and generate deviations
• Coordinate on studies; pre-init meetings and schedule changes
• Necropsy set up (LIMS, records, cassettes, tubes)
• Identify process improvements and troubleshoot equipment
• Handle drug calculations and sample shipping
• Perform intubation/extubation and monitor anesthesia depth
• Other duties as assigned
