Job summary

Northern Biomedical Research Inc in Muskegon, MI is seeking a Necropsy Technician II to support necropsy studies, tissue collection, and prosection. You will mentor entry-level technicians and handle data management using the LIMS, while ensuring GLP compliance and accurate sample handling.

Responsibilities include study setup, tissue prep, euthanasia procedures, drug calculations, and maintaining specialized necropsy equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years’ experience with a High School Diploma/GED (or 1 year with an undergraduate degree).
LAT certification preferred; able to handle laboratory animals per GLP and federal regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn lab software.
Good written and oral communication skills; team-oriented and coachable.

Responsibilities

Set up necropsy studies, data sheet creation, cassette labeling, and sample management in LIMS.
Operate necropsy equipment and troubleshoot maintenance needs.
Collaborate with Study Directors on protocols and pre-initiation meetings.
Perform advanced euthanasia and prosection of tissues/organs.
Mentor entry-level necropsy technicians.
Prepare solutions, perform drug calculations, and administer injections.
Maintain inventory and order specialized necropsy supplies.
Ensure data review and compliance with GLP standards.
