Job summary

Northern Biomedical Research Inc is seeking a Senior Necropsy Technician in Muskegon, MI to lead necropsy operations, mentor junior staff, and ensure timely study completion. The role includes tissue collection, data review, and coordination with multiple departments.

The candidate will handle advanced euthanasia, tissue processing, and sample preparation, while ensuring GLP compliance and accurate documentation across studies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with at least 3 years of experience or an undergraduate degree with 4 years of experience.
• LATG certification preferred. Ability to handle common laboratory species.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office core applications and the ability to learn and use additional applications.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train Necropsy Technicians I & II including training records and documentation.
• Perform advanced euthanasia including drug administration and catheter placement.
• Conduct prosection of tissues/organs including DRG and spinal cord.
• Collect samples including urine, blood, CSF.
• Process specialized tissues and necropsy procedures such as brain and eye collection.
• Review daily study data and generate deviations; advise on SOPs and protocols.
• Act as a point technician on studies including photo management and document generation.
• Set up necropsy with LIMS, paper records, cassettes, and tubes.
• Identify and pilot process improvement opportunities and projects.
• Own necropsy equipment and troubleshoot procedures.
