Northern Biomedical Research Inc. in Muskegon, MI, is seeking a Necropsy Technician II to support necropsy study setup, tissue collection, and sample management.

You will mentor entry-level technicians and ensure proper handling of specimens, data, and equipment in a GLP-regulated environment. The role requires hands-on necropsy duties, advanced euthanasia procedures, and collaboration with study directors to draft protocols and ensure endpoints are met.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required; 2 years experience preferred.
• LAT certification preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office core applications and the ability to learn and use additional applications.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Intermediate understanding of GLP and federal regulations relating to the care and handling of laboratory animals.
• Understanding study design and ability to produce quality tissues/samples to meet protocol endpoints.
• Team player with self-motivation and coachability.

Responsabilidades

• Set up necropsy study data sheets, label cassettes and tubes using LIMS.
• Operate necropsy equipment and troubleshoot for maintenance.
• Collaborate with Study Directors on protocols and pre-initiation meetings.
• Perform advanced euthanasia including drug administration and catheter placement.
• Prosection of tissues/organs including DRG, spinal cord, and heart.
• Collect samples (urine, blood, CSF) and manage specimens.
• Review necropsy data and maintain inventory of supplies.
• Mentor and train entry-level necropsy technicians.
• Assist with intubation/induction of anesthesia and assess depth.
• Perform drug calculations and prepare solutions and fixatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
