Job summary

Xcel NDT in Columbia, SC is seeking a Level II UTSW Technician to perform calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations per instructions, codes, and specifications. You will set up equipment, interpret results, and maintain accurate records while providing on-the-job guidance to Assistants and Level I Technicians.

Qualifications

• NDT Level II UTSW certification (required).
• Additional NDT Level II certifications in RT (with OJT and state card), MT, PT, and/or UTT preferred.
• Strong technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
• Proven ability to perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret inspection results.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate NDT equipment and related testing devices.
• Conduct tests to detect discontinuities using approved NDT methods.
• Establish examination techniques and ensure safety compliance.
• Apply inspection criteria per specifications and evaluate results.
• Interpret readings from various indicators and document findings.
• Organize, document, and report test results accurately.
• Perform specialized inspections as required.
• Provide training and supervision to Assistants and Level I Technicians.
• Complete other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
