Serco Inc. in Chesapeake, VA, is seeking an Advanced Marine Welder to support US Navy ships with fabrication, assembly of electromechanical components, and C5ISR installations aboard ship. Responsibilities include reviewing blueprints, cutting metal, and finishing parts while maintaining safety and security clearances.

Expect travel up to 10% and on-site work in naval shipyards. Qualified candidates have 5+ years shipboard welding experience, a High School Diploma/GED, and the ability to obtain

Formación

• Must obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 5 years of shipboard welding experience.
• Ability to access shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS), pass background check and drug screen.
• Complete Serco Welding Procedures within 30 days: Serco-001 to Serco-012.
• Have your own tools and pass pre-certification welding test.
• Get respirator qualified and wear PPE during work.
• Familiarity with NAVSEA concepts in electrical repair, fabrication and installation.
• Strict safety awareness is required.
• Travel up to 10% is expected.
• Work onsite in Chesapeake, VA.

Responsabilidades

• Assemble metal components or repair metal using heavy machinery.
• Review blueprints and cut metal to shape.
• Finish metal parts, smoothing to remove creases.
• Navigate shipyard stairs and work in kneeling positions for cable layouts; lift up to 50 lbs with 80% of the time up to 40 lbs.
• May train personnel on machinery tools and test equipment.
