Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Advanced Marine Welder to support US Navy ships with fabrication, assembly, and installation of electromechanical and electronic components. The role requires shipboard welding expertise, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

On-site work in Chesapeake, VA with potential travel. You will review blueprints, cut and shape metal, and ensure high-quality finishes while complying with Navy and Serco procedures. U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years shipboard welding experience.
• Able to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Own tools and pass company weld test.
• Must be respirator-qualified and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal pieces or repair metal components using heavy heated equipment.
• Review blueprints and cut metal to specified shapes.
• Smoke-free inspection and smooth metal to remove creases.
• Climb shipyard stairs and work in varied positions to lay out cable runs.
• Travel up to 10% and may train others on tools and test equipment.
