Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Advanced Marine Welder to support U.S. Navy ships with equipment and C5ISR system installations aboard naval ships and in Chesapeake, VA.

The role involves fabricating and assembling electromechanical components, following Serco welding procedures, and ensuring safety during demanding shipboard work. You will review blueprints, cut metal to spec, train teammates, and travel up to 10% as required, while maintaining respirator qualifications and PPE compliance for on-site

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years shipboard welding experience.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance and navy access.
• US citizenship required and successful pre-employment checks.
• Must be respirator-qualified and pass PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal parts and repair damage using heavy machinery.
• Review blueprints and cut metal to shape.
• Smooth metal, remove defects, and fit components.
• Climb shipyard stairs, handle cable layouts, lift up to 50 lb.
• Train personnel on tools and test equipment as needed.
