Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to provide technical oversight for the AN/SQQ-89 Advanced Baselines at NSWC Dahlgren, focusing on surface ASW functional areas including contact management and weapons control.

The role demands extensive systems engineering experience in USW and C2, leadership in teams, and familiarity with GOTS/COTS software and FMS programs, plus documentation for system integration and certification processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific/technical discipline from an accredited institution.
• Ten or more years of professional systems engineering experience in support of Undersea Warfare (USW) for U.S. and Foreign Military Sales platforms.
• Minimum ten years of experience with five years in team leadership performing systems analysis, engineering, and mission planning.
• Proficiency in identifying and resolving complex engineering challenges across Navy/Joint Warfighting capabilities.
• Experience with Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software technologies.
• Ability to develop system integration documentation including ECPs, ICRs, IDS, and WS; familiarity with certification processes and FMS programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight to integrator developers, ensuring performance and interface requirements for the AN/SQQ-89 Advanced Baselines.
• Conduct engineering reviews including P-Spec baseline releases, FDD baseline releases, and IDS.
• Participate in the AN/SQQ-89 Requirements Working Group to address performance requirements for CRUDES platforms and FMS baselines.
• Engage in Bug Adjudication Board meetings to analyze and resolve issues within installed baselines.
