Job summary

VTG Defense seeks Senior Systems Engineers to serve as subject matter experts on the AN/SQQ-89(V) Undersea Warfare combat system, with positions in San Diego, CA, and Hampton Roads, VA. You will lead technical data authoring, software/firmware management, training architecture, security engineering, and cross‑functional systems integration across the ACB software suite.

The role requires 15+ years of Navy surface ship systems experience, a DoD SECRET clearance, and hands-on AN/SQQ-89 ACB

Qualifications

• DoD SECRET clearance required; TS/SCI eligibility preferred for sensitive functions.
• 15+ years of systems engineering experience on Navy surface ship combat systems.
• Hands-on AN/SQQ-89 ACB software architecture experience highly preferred.
• S1000D technical data authoring experience and related workflows.
• Experience with NAVSEA eMASS, ACAS, and DoD IA workforce certification.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, systems engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead S1000D data development and ACB functional segment authoring.
• Manage software/firmware reproduction, version control, and updates.
• Serve as technical authority for ACB analysis and interface coordination.
• Develop MOODLE/LMS content and IPRA documentation.
• Oversee JDTA and training architecture aligned to NEC requirements.
• Support IPRA, DD 254 compliance, and COMSEC account functions.
• Coordinate with CSSQT at-sea events and shipboard integration testing.
