Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking an experienced engineer for the Stern Area System and TSMS team. The role focuses on supporting shipboard construction, integration, and test procedure development to prepare for fleet operations.

The successful candidate will interact with Electric Boat management, Navy offices, SUPSHIP, NAVSEA, Ships Force, and ISEA, and must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Civil, Marine, Structural Engineering, Engineering Technologies, Electronics, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of post graduate professional engineering experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense secret clearance.
• Knowledge/ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and diagrams; familiarity with shipbuilding specifications and manuals.
• Experience with system integration, test procedures, and ship construction.

Responsibilities

• Support shipboard construction and integration.
• Develop and prepare test procedures.
• Provide troubleshooting support to the fleet once systems are in use.
• Interface with multiple disciplines, Electric Boat management, Navy offices, SUPSHIP, NAVSEA, Ships Force and ISEA.
