Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an entry-level Systems Engineer I/II in Groton, CT. The role supports the Waterfront Engineering Backlog Reduction Team, focusing on structural analysis, troubleshooting in the shipyard, and evaluating conditions with calculations and reports in Groton.

You will work on varied submarine design and construction topics, interact with NAVSEA and shipyard teams, and participate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural, or Aerospace Engineering (by Dec 2026).
• 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
• Experience or coursework in Structural Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced environment with strong teamwork and communication.
• Perform analysis when needed in shipyard and Groton office.
• Apply practical, hands-on problem-solving to design and construction tasks.
• Maintain high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
