Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Kings Bay, GA seeks a Non-Nuclear Field Test Engineer to support test, troubleshooting, and technical execution of non-nuclear submarine systems during maintenance.

This role requires hands-on shipboard and office work, authoring Technical Work Documents, real-time troubleshooting, and collaboration with design and operations teams to ensure mission readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Active DoD Secret Clearance preferred.
• Experience supporting USN submarine mechanical or electrical systems (non-nuclear).

Responsibilities

• Author and revise Technical Work Documents (TWDs) for non-nuclear maintenance and modernization.
• Provide shipboard technical direction and real-time troubleshooting support.
• Conduct and support system testing and validation efforts.
• Ensure compliance with shipbuilding specs, USN maintenance requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering teams.
• Evaluate shipboard conditions and develop practical engineering solutions.
