Job summary

Synectic Solutions, Inc. (SSI) is recruiting a Senior Naval Mission Planning System (NavMPS) Systems Engineer to support PMA-281 at Patuxent River, MD. The role emphasizes modernizing CMBRE test equipment for STORM and coordinating with Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force stakeholders.

The candidate will apply MBSE and SE processes, lead cross-functional teams, ensure safety and cyber compliance, and travel up to eight times per year. This position supports hybrid on-site and telework arrangements.

Qualifications

• Requires U.S. citizenship and an Active Secret Clearance.
• Master’s degree in a technical/scientific field or a Bachelor’s with additional 4 years of relevant experience.
• 10+ years in an engineering role, 3+ years in a DoD/NAVAIR context.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering processes to the CMBRE system lifecycle.
• Translate mission operation domains into requirements and MBSE views.
• Engage with Naval operators and project officers to identify gaps and improvements.
• Collaborate in Agile software environments with vendors and engineers.
• Coordinate with safety and certification bodies (WSESRB) for approvals.
• Lead or participate in groups documenting cyber, security, and DoD requirements.
• Support test, evaluation, and remediation activities for system validation.
