Job summary

Ultra Maritime’s Electrical Engineering team supports development and production of ASW technologies for the U.S. Navy and allied forces.

You will report to the manager of Electrical Engineering and support sonobuoy production engineering within an integrated product support team. Responsibilities include leading RCAs, mentoring engineers, ensuring compliance with specs, and coordinating with suppliers to resolve issues while maintaining project timelines and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 7+ years of experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot analog, digital, power electronics, and RF circuits.
• Ability to obtain U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to resolve complex technical issues.
• Lead Root‑Cause Corrective Action investigations of electrical/hardware issues during production.
• Serve as a senior technical resource for production electrical engineering activities and mentor less‑experienced engineers.
• Conduct technical studies, risk assessments, and engineering reviews to ensure compliance with specifications and timelines.
• Generate and lead engineering change documentation, including customer-facing documents for hardware changes.
• Lead/Support transition-to-production activities ensuring designs and processes are production-ready.
• Support Design Engineering with cost-reduction efforts, testing, troubleshooting, and prototyping.
• Interface with suppliers to evaluate nonconforming hardware and corrective actions.
• Travel up to 10% to UM and government test sites.
