Job summary

Ultra Maritime is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support development and production of Advanced ASW technologies for the U.S. Navy and allied forces.

You will lead production electrical activities, mentor engineers, and collaborate with operations, quality, and suppliers to ensure timely, compliant hardware releases. The role demands hands-on troubleshooting across analog/digital/RF circuits, proficiency with lab/test equipment, and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Computer Engineering and 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot electrical hardware across analog, digital, power electronics, and RF circuits.
  • Proficiency with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and waveform generators.
  • Experience leading Root-Cause Corrective investigations.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to convey technical information to engineers, manufacturing, management, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to mentor less-experienced engineers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Must be able to obtain U.S. Government security clearance (citizens only).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering to resolve issues in production testing, integration, and manufacturing.
  • Lead Root-Cause Corrective Action investigations of complex electrical and hardware issues.
  • Serve as senior technical resource for production electrical engineering and mentor junior engineers.
  • Conduct studies, risk assessments, and reviews to ensure compliance with specs, quality, and timelines.
  • Generate and lead engineering change documentation for hardware changes.
  • Lead/Support transition-to-production activities ensuring designs and processes are production-ready.
  • Support design engineering with cost-reduction, production improvements, testing and prototyping.
  • Interface with suppliers and address nonconforming hardware and corrective actions.
  • Travel (~10%) to UM and government test sites.
