Job summary

Ultra Maritime is actively seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the development of Sonobuoy and related systems. You will guide system development with cross-functional teams and perform system-level trade studies to determine best approaches.

The role involves working with complex software algorithms and DSP hardware for Navy programs. Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 9+ years of relevant experience, with willingness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a related field and 9+ years in a relevant complex engineering environment.
• Significant experience with sonar or similar signal processing systems.
• Experience planning, reviewing, and executing integration and test events for hardware and software systems.
• Ability to document and specify system and subsystem level requirements.
• Experience leading a small group of engineers across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Guide system development through all lifecycle stages with RF, Mechanical, Electrical, Acoustic, and Software teams.
• Perform system-level trade-space assessments with the Project Engineer.
• Contribute to key Navy proposals, IR&D, and development activities.
