SMA: The Program Lifecycle Company seeks an experienced Capture Manager to drive capture for NAVAIR opportunities around Patuxent River, MD, with travel to Reston, VA. Lead cross‑functional teams across BD, Operations, Technical, Contracts, Pricing, Proposal to build winning capture strategies.

Ideal candidate has 10+ years in federal BD and proven DoD capture success, with deep knowledge of NAVAIR processes and contracting vehicles; capable of guiding executive audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 10+ years of federal BD, capture management, PMA, or related defense roles.
• Experience supporting DoD/U.S. Navy BD and capture activities.
• Understanding of the NAVAIR/NAWCAD environment at Patuxent River.
• Experience leading full lifecycle capture for complex federal opportunities.
• Strong understanding of federal acquisition processes and procurement.
• Ability to develop capture strategies, win themes, and competitive assessments.
• Ability to coordinate across pricing, contracts, and proposal teams.
• Ability to communicate with executives, government customers, and industry partners.
• Active DoD security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle capture activities for strategic NAVAIR opportunities from identification to award.
• Develop and execute comprehensive capture plans to maximize win probability.
• Establish capture schedules, milestones, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate capture activities across BD, Operations, Technical, Contracts, Pricing, Finance, and Proposal.
• Facilitate capture team meetings and document actions, risks, and intelligence.
• Support gate reviews with clear assessments of status, position, and investment.
• Maintain understanding of NAVAIR/NAWCAD environments and customer priorities.
• Develop customer engagement plans and capture-driven messaging.
• Ensure capture outputs are translated into effective proposal strategies.
• Identify and mitigate gaps in capabilities, staffing, and teaming.
