Job summary

Battelle is seeking a nationally recognized scientific leader in New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), Microphysiological Systems (MPS), and human-relevant toxicology to lead the strategic advancement of next-generation non-animal testing platforms across research, safety assessment, and translational science.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in toxicology, biomedical engineering, physiology, pharmacology, or related discipline.
• 20+ years of experience working in NAMs space or related field.
• Proven leadership of interdisciplinary scientific teams.
• Strong publication and external presentation record in NAMs/MPS/related fields.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the scientific roadmap for NAMs, MPS, organ-on-chip, and in vitro systems.
• Guide adoption of best practices with FDA, EPA, NIH/NICEATM and other stakeholders.
• Identify strategic investments and partnerships to drive growth in NAMs and MPS.
• Mentor senior scientists and build a culture of scientific rigor and cross-sector collaboration.
