Job summary

Battelle is seeking an early-career Scientist with a recent PhD and strong interest in NAMs, MPS, organoids, and other human-relevant non-animal testing platforms. The Biologist II will contribute to the development, application, and evaluation of advanced non-animal testing platforms to support chemical safety assessment, biomedical research, and product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years experience or Master’s degree in related field.
• Doctoral research in NAMs, MPS, organoids, or related areas.
• Experience designing experiments and communicating findings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams.
• U.S. citizen and ability to obtain government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, analyze and document NAMs and MPS studies.
• Develop expertise in human-relevant toxicology areas.
• Support design, implementation, and qualification of MPS platforms.
• Conduct experiments to evaluate model performance and relevance.
• Analyze data with statistics and visualization methods.
• Integrate MPS data with omics and computational data.
• Prepare technical reports and client-ready deliverables.
• Maintain quality, safety, and SOP adherence.
