Job summary

Box is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the NaaS team in Redwood City. You will design and implement distributed networking solutions, owning them end-to-end from ideation to rollout, while mentoring teammates and driving platform improvements.

The role blends internal infrastructure work with customer-facing networking capabilities. You will work in a hybrid setup, collaborating across Edge and internal layers, with opportunities to influence large-scale systems and AI-enabled content

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or platform/networking.
• Hands-on experience with load balancers (L4/L7), AWS, and Kubernetes in production.
• Strong proficiency in Go, Java, C/C++, or Rust; able to design reliable, observable services.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team growth.
• Experience on cloud/platform infrastructure teams and comfortable in hybrid in-office/remote work.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, validate, and roll out distributed systems and load balancers.
• Own end-to-end technical solutions from ideation to rollout and impact measurement.
• Identify opportunities to improve Box's network and platform infrastructure and drive changes.
• Mentor junior engineers on the NaaS team and share expertise.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver networking solutions that improve reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents.
