Job summary

Boom Technology, Inc. is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to own the end-to-end design of a 13.8kV medium-voltage system for the Superpower platform.

You will define architecture, protection philosophy, and operation concepts, then lead energization, testing, and commissioning on a standalone power system. You should have deep MV experience, protection coordination expertise, and the ability to produce clean MV drawings for installation and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience with medium-voltage systems — switchgear, breakers, protective relaying, grounding, and generator integration in industrial or power-generation environments.
• Strong understanding of rotating machinery: generator behavior, excitation, AVR systems, synchronization, and transient response under load, faults, and trips.
• Experience with protection coordination — relay selection, settings, differential and overcurrent schemes — and the ability to own that work from study through commissioning.
• Able to read and produce clean MV electrical drawings (one-lines, wire diagrams, panel layouts) that can be built and commissioned without ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Define the MV architecture, protection philosophy, and operation concepts during preliminary design with long-lead switchgear and generator breakers.
• Produce protection coordination studies, relay settings, and MV drawings through detailed design.
• Lead first energization, relay commissioning, synchronization, load acceptance, and step-load testing.
• Own the end-to-end MV electrical system: generation, distribution, protection, and possible grid interconnect.
