Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for our Water and Environment team to lead municipal water and wastewater projects across multiple locations including Boise, ID.

The role focuses on independently managing major projects, mentoring staff, and delivering high-quality outcomes while building client relationships and managing financial performance. The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, PE license, 8+ years of experience in water/wastewater, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field); PE license required or ability to obtain
• 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with a focus on water and wastewater systems
• Strong experience in municipal (city and/or special purpose district) water/wastewater system design
• Experience managing municipal water/wastewater projects through multiple phases of delivery
• Proven ability to lead design tasks and coordinate project teams
• Familiarity with public agency processes, permitting requirements, and regulatory coordination
• Experience supporting full project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction
• Proficiency with standard engineering tools (e.g., hydraulic modeling, drafting/design software, Bluebeam, spreadsheets)
• Strong communication and technical writing skills
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and design for municipal water/wastewater systems
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants
• Oversee project financials including forecasting, invoicing, and profitability
• Ensure successful project closeout and client satisfaction
• Prepare and oversee engineering deliverables including plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and design standards
• Serve as Engineer of Record or technical lead on projects
