Job summary

Jacobs in Wisconsin seeks a Municipal Transportation Engineer/Project Manager to lead design and delivery of municipal roadway projects. You will advance toward project management, client leadership, and business development while collaborating with senior staff on local roadway and WisDOT Connecting Highway improvements across southeastern Wisconsin.

The ideal candidate will have a PE license in WI, 6–10 years of municipal experience, and strong Civil 3D skills, with a focus on driving projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license in Wisconsin or ability to obtain within six months.
• 6–10 years of municipal transportation or civil infrastructure experience.
• Strong technical experience in roadway design and municipal reconstruction.
• Experience developing construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Permitting, planning, design, bidding, and construction familiarity.
• Experience with municipal clients and local government processes.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D and Autodesk software.
• Strong communication skills and desire for client-facing leadership.
• Experience as task lead, design lead, or project engineer on transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform engineering design for municipal transportation projects.
• Serve as task lead or deputy project manager on municipal infrastructure projects.
• Support project planning, scope, budget, scheduling, and resources.
• Partner with municipal clients, stakeholders, and agency representatives.
• Prepare and review plans, specs, cost estimates, and reports.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver infrastructure solutions.
• Assist with construction administration and site visits.
• Participate in client meetings and stakeholder coordination.
• Assist with proposals, business development, and client relationships.
• Mentor junior engineers and grow leadership skills.
