Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Roadway Project Engineer / Task Manager to lead planning, design, and delivery of roadway and highway projects across Wisconsin. You will manage design tasks, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, mentor early-career engineers, and ensure quality, scope, and budget compliance from concept through final design.

The role emphasizes delivering WisDOT projects, applying ORD/Civil 3D expertise, and collaborating with clients and municipalities to achieve successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin, or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in roadway design, highway design, transportation engineering, or civil transportation projects
• Experience delivering WisDOT transportation projects and working with Wisconsin design standards and specifications
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, experience with MicroStation platforms is a plus
• Strong understanding of roadway geometrics, corridor modeling, intersection design, plan production, quantities, and PS&E development
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and managing project tasks and deliverables
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and delivery of roadway projects from concept through final design.
• Mentor engineers and designers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop PS&E packages, design calculations, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with WisDOT standards, FDM, and federal guidelines.
• Coordinate with WisDOT, municipalities, and project stakeholders.
• Provide project leadership on scope, schedule, and budgets.
