Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Senior Municipal Engineer to join our Dubuque team, working on civil, municipal, and environmental projects with CAD Technicians and office staff. The role focuses on delivering high-quality designs for public works and community infrastructure.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Civil or Environmental Engineering, 10+ years of design experience, and an Iowa PE license or eligibility to obtain within a year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred/desired.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred.
• Previous roadway, storm sewer, sanitary collection sewers and water distribution design experience desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost and quantity estimates for public works projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
