Job summary

Cancer Center of South Florida is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage bi-weekly payroll for ~300 employees across several states. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely postings while partnering with Finance, HR, and payroll vendors.

The role requires strong Excel skills, Paylocity know-how, and the ability to handle multi-state payroll nuances in a high-volume environment, maintaining confidentiality and supporting month-end through year-end close.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• Three or more years of hands-on payroll processing experience; multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for employees across multiple states.
• Review, validate, and audit employee payroll information including time records, earnings, deductions, and taxes.
• Audit payroll results, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate timely corrections with employees, management, HR, and payroll providers.
• Maintain, review, and validate payroll system configurations within Paylocity, including multi-state payroll rules and tax settings.
• Complete payroll-related accounting activities, including journal entries and month-end close processes.
• Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for internal reporting and audits.
