Trailnet seeks a Community Planning Manager to lead community-centered planning that makes streets safer and more accessible for walking, biking, and public transit in the St. Louis region.

The role involves building authentic relationships with diverse communities, translating technical planning concepts for nontechnical audiences, and managing a demanding portfolio of projects from concept to completion to advance Trailnet’s mission.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or related field.
• Experience leading complex planning projects with Complete Streets.
• AICP preferred.
• Transportation planning expertise connecting to public health and policy issues.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with residents, community organizations, public agencies, consultants, and other partners.
• Plan and lead community engagement processes for walking, biking, transit, and street-safety priorities.
• Develop multimodal Complete Streets plans and recommendations for broader planning and advocacy.
• Translate technical planning concepts for nontechnical audiences and translate community priorities into actionable recommendations.
• Independently manage a portfolio of planning and technical-assistance projects with budgets and deadlines.
