Job summary

Dolby is seeking a senior research leader to guide the Multimodal Experiences Lab in San Francisco. You will spearhead research at the intersection of multimodal AI and immersive technologies, invent next-gen interactive systems, and drive projects across rendering and delivery pipelines.

You will mentor researchers, shape strategy with ATG leaders, and partner with product groups to translate breakthroughs into scalable products.

Qualifications

• Proven research experience in multimodal AI, generative AI, computer vision, and audiovisual analysis.
• Strong record of innovation with patents and top-conference publications as first author.
• Experience deploying AI systems at scale in production environments.
• Demonstrated C/C++/Python programming and problem solving abilities.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire research teams.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with global impact.
• 8+ years of relevant research and industry experience; PhD optional with depth and impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on research at the intersection of multimodal AI and immersive experiences.
• Invent and advance next-generation interactive and sensory technologies.
• Drive projects across content creation, delivery, analysis, and rendering systems.
• Collaborate with global research teams to set directions and fuel licensing and cloud efforts.
• Guide and mentor a high-performing team of researchers in multimodal understanding and rendering.
• Define research roadmaps in partnership with ATG leaders and align with global initiatives.
• Translate research breakthroughs into real-world products with business groups.
