Job summary

Comstock Companies is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to support day-to-day site operations, lead due diligence for acquisitions, and drive stabilization across the portfolio. You will mentor on-site teams, coordinate transitions, and partner with leadership to improve occupancy, customer experience, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires experience in Class A properties, strong Yardi knowledge, and the ability to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; college degree preferred.
• 5+ years in property management with at least two years at a Residential 'Class A' building.
• 2 years supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Experience with financial statements, budgeting, and general accounting principles.
• Understanding of federal fair housing laws and applicable state/local regulations for property management.
• Experience supporting acquisitions, due diligence, management transitions, and lease-ups preferred.
• Experience with Yardi Voyager and Yardi CRM.
• Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Credible, trustworthy, and operate with high integrity.
• Customer-focused and results-oriented; eager to learn and develop continuously.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide interim operational support at assigned communities during staffing transitions.
• Mentor on-site teams to ensure operational excellence and compliance with standards.
• Partner with Portfolio Managers to identify challenges and implement corrective actions.
• Lead operational due diligence for acquisitions (site walks, audits, staffing reviews).
• Coordinate property management transitions (pre-close planning, onboarding, post-transition stabilization).
• Assist lease-up communities to meet leasing goals and customer experience standards.
• Review performance metrics and recommend operational improvements.
• Travel extensively across the portfolio as needed.
