Job summary

Comstock is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to serve as a key operational resource across our portfolio, supporting site operations, due diligence for acquisitions, and seamless transitions for new communities. You will guide on-site teams, ensure customer service excellence, and uphold company standards and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes leadership, operational discipline, and coordination with senior leadership to drive occupancy, financial performance, and growth in Reston, VA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in property management, with at least 2 years in a Residential Class A building.
• 2 years of supervisory experience with ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Experience with financial statements, budgeting, and general accounting concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide interim operational support at communities, temporarily assuming PM/Asst PM/Leasing Manager duties during staffing transitions.
• Mentor on-site teams to ensure operational excellence and policy compliance.
• Partner with Portfolio Managers and leadership to identify challenges and implement action plans.
• Lead operational due diligence for acquisitions, including site walks, audits, and process reviews.
• Coordinate post-close transitions, including planning, meetings, system setup, and team onboarding.
• Support lease-up efforts to meet leasing goals and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct inspections and file reviews to recommend improvements and efficiencies.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training for on-site teams.
• Support adoption of company systems and best practices (Yardi, CRM IQ, etc.).
• Monitor occupancy, collections, resident satisfaction, maintenance metrics, and online reputation.
