Job summary

PEM is seeking a Multifamily Director of Operations in Phoenix, AZ to lead cross‑functional teams across property management, leasing, maintenance, and customer service. You will develop and implement enterprise-wide operational strategies, manage budgeting and forecasting, and drive cost controls to maximize profitability and compliance across all units.

The role requires strategic leadership, strong financial acumen, and a track record of managing large teams in real estate operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in operations management within real estate, rental, or leasing industries.
Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Comprehensive knowledge of real estate industry regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily operations across multiple departments including property management, leasing, maintenance, and customer service to ensure seamless business performance.
Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation to meet organizational financial targets and operational goals.
Collaborate with executive leadership to align operational objectives with company vision and market demands.
Monitor compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies to mitigate risks and uphold legal requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing operational data, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing innovative solutions.
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
