Job summary

AMH is seeking a Senior Resident Manager in Phoenix, AZ to lead resident relations and daily operations of a portfolio of single-family homes. You will guide Resident Managers, manage staff, and implement district strategies to meet occupancy, retention, and financial goals.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5+ years of operational experience, 3+ years in management, and a real estate license where required. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum five years of directly related operational experience.
• Minimum three years in a management role.
• Real Estate License and required state permits/certifications.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with property management software a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and resident relations within the District.
• Provide leadership to Resident Managers and support roles.
• Drive district collections, retention, and lease renewal strategies.
• Coordinate move-out reconciliations and security deposit handling per state laws.
• Contribute to hiring decisions and staff development; mentor team.
• Aim for profitability by managing expenses related to maintenance and turn-over.
• Resolve escalated resident issues and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
• Ensure adherence to approved operational strategies and policies.
