Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. seeks a Payroll Manager to lead accurate, timely payroll for 750+ hourly and salaried employees across multiple sites and jurisdictions.

You will supervise a payroll specialist, manage ADP Workforce Now configurations, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to optimize payroll processes and reporting. Responsibilities include multi-state payroll processing, audits, tax filings, GL mappings, and payroll governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state operations.
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll, HRIS, and timekeeping systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee end-to-end multi-site payroll for 750+ employees across states.
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, OT, bonuses, route pay, and deductions.
• Coordinate with management to verify timekeeping and resolve discrepancies.
• Review and approve payroll batches in ADP; ensure GL accuracy.
• Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation.
• Process special payrolls, off-cycle payments, and final paychecks.
• Maintain payroll system tax settings and GL mappings.
• Communicate changes and respond to payroll inquiries; support reporting.
• Lead audits and ensure regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local laws.
