The Battery Simulation Engineer role focuses on building and validating multi-physics models that connect cell behavior to pack performance. In this senior position, you will partner with US OEM customers and internal cell teams to shape new designs from concept to mass production, anchoring simulations to program-level decisions and safety criteria.

Qualifications

MS/PhD in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical/Chemical or Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
5+ years simulating complex physical systems with lithium-ion battery knowledge.
Experience with multi-physics tools (COMSOL/ANSYS/MATLAB/Simulink) and scripting (Python).
Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to work with cross-functional teams and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Lead development and validation of electrochemical, thermal, and mechanical simulation models for cell and pack performance.
Use first-principles approaches to balance accuracy with computational efficiency for design decisions.
Collaborate with US OEM customers and internal teams to drive design from concept to mass production.
Negotiate design requirements and product specifications with customers.
Serve as technical lead for active programs, ensuring simulations align with vehicle and system targets.
Develop and implement test plans to validate new cell/pack designs and analyze failure modes.
