You’ll translate customer drawings, develop 4- and 5-axis toolpaths, and optimize setups for tight tolerances on prototype and low-volume parts. Collaboration with engineering, quality, and production is essential as you mentor machinists, publish setup documentation, and validate programs on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of CNC programming with a job shop background preferred.
• Expert-level Mastercam skills.
• Fluent in SolidWorks for modeling and design intent.
• Extensive experience programming multi-axis mills and lathes.
• Strong blueprint/GD&T interpretation.
• Proven success with tight-tolerance machining.
• Experience programming complex threads (ACME, buttress, etc).
• Independent problem solver with ownership mindset.
• Experience editing post processors; macro programming knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Program intricate components for CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam and Smartcam.
• Translate SolidWorks models and customer drawings into optimized machining plans.
• Develop advanced multi-axis toolpaths: 4-axis, 5-axis, and mill-turn.
• Design end-to-end processes for prototype and low-volume work.
• Select tooling, workholding, and cutting strategies to balance quality, cost, and cycle time.
• Run on-machine prove-outs; refine programs and eliminate bottlenecks on the shop floor.
• Diagnose machining, tooling, and code issues; implement durable fixes.
• Publish setup sheets and tooling documentation to support setup machinists.
• Mentor team members and share best practices.
• Partner closely with engineering, quality, and production.
