Job summary

van den Boom & Associates LLC seeks a Senior Systems Engineer / Solutions Architect to lead security-led MSP delivery. You’ll design Microsoft 365/Azure environments, implement security controls, and build automation tools to scale the team.

You will mentor Tier 1/2, own root-cause analysis, and collaborate with sales on scope and proposals while ensuring client-facing design quality and documentation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration and architecture.
• Strong security background: IAM, endpoint security, conditional access, security best practices.
• Scripting ability, particularly PowerShell.
• Interest in automation and AI agents (Claude).
• Experience as escalation point for service desk or support team.
• Experience designing technical solutions for clients, including scoping and documentation.
• Strong communication skills with clients on technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Escalation & Technical Leadership: Tier 3 escalation point for the service desk across infra, cloud, security.
• Mentor Tier 1/2 technicians; build docs and runbooks to raise team capability.
• Own root-cause analysis for high-impact incidents.
• Design end-to-end technical solutions spanning MS 365, Azure, identity/security, networking, endpoint management.
• Partner with sales/leadership to scope engagements and estimate effort.
• Lead onboarding and migrations for new clients into the managed environment.
• Establish and maintain architecture standards and reference designs.
