Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a field-based MSL/Senior MSL to strategically support research and business objectives within a designated therapeutic area across a territory. You will be the primary AbbVie science communicator to healthcare professionals, develop relationships, and provide medical and scientific support throughout the product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with AbbVie teams to meet educational and research needs, travel up to 75% of the time, and ensure compliant, accurate information

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in PharmD, MD/DO, PhD or APP in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience for a Senior MSL; 0-2 years for an MSL.
• Endocrinology, Metabolic, obesity, or Gastroenterology experience preferred.
• Ability to translate territory and corporate needs to internal/external customers.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong presentation and teaching skills; able to work independently and in a team; adaptable to new structures/cultures.
• Must meet HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities within the territory; may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof.
• Ability to learn and convey clinical and non-clinical information effectively; engage audiences and aid retention.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time; live in or relocate to DC/MD/DE/Eastern PA territory.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with thought leaders, academic centers, and researchers in assigned therapeutic areas.
• Present scientific information about disease states, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products to physicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals.
• Support research initiatives with AbbVie R&D/Clinical Operations/Medical Affairs and investigator-initiated projects.
• Prepare marketplaces in new therapeutic areas and build AbbVie relationships with the medical community.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and field sales to support account plans and align with business objectives.
• Serve as a scientific resource for healthcare providers by answering unsolicited medical questions.
• Provide ongoing training to medical affairs, field sales, and internal personnel as directed.
• Demonstrate strategic segmentation and efficient resource use.
