Job summary

AbbVie seeks a field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL/Senior MSL) to strategically support research and business objectives across designated therapeutic areas. The role communicates AbbVie science to healthcare professionals, develops relationships, and supports medical education and research activities throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, APP) in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience for a Senior MSL; direct MSL experience strongly preferred.
• Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Proficiency in Office software and strong communication/presentation skills.
• HCIR credentialing requirements may apply to access facilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with thought leaders and researchers in assigned therapeutic areas.
• Present scientific information and education relative to disease state and AbbVie products to healthcare professionals.
• Support research initiatives, investigator meetings, and external collaborations as requested by AbbVie teams.
• Prepare market awareness in new therapeutic areas and establish AbbVie presence in the medical community.
• Create and collaborate in cross-functional partnerships; support commercial teams with scientific resources.
• Answer unsolicited medical questions and provide ongoing medical affairs training as directed.
• Travel up to 75% and ensure compliance with corporate policies during HCP interactions.
