Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Cell Therapy in Texas to act as the local medical voice in cell therapy and myeloma. You will build a local scientific strategy to advance patient care and outcomes within the territory, engaging leaders and treating physicians across academic and community sites.

The role requires an advanced scientific degree and 5+ years in hematology/oncology with 2+ years in field medical engagement, plus willingness to travel 40-60%.

Qualifications

• Advanced scientific degree required (PharmD/MD/DO/PhD/PA/NP).
• 5+ years in hematology/oncology; at least 2 years in field medical/scientific engagement, preferably cell therapy or multiple myeloma.
• Ability to distill complex information into clear messages for internal/external stakeholders.
• Experience launching/developing a new pharmaceutical product in the U.S.
• Experience in a matrixed environment with cross-functional Medical Affairs, Commercial and R&D teams.
• Ability to travel 40-60% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scientific relationships with hematology/cell therapy thought leaders and HCPs across academic and community centers in the territory.
• Engage in scientific exchanges with hematologists/oncologists, cell therapy physicians, APPs, pharmacists, and infusion staff.
• Respond to unsolicited requests for scientific information per company policy.
• Establish as a trusted scientific advisor to internal and external stakeholders.
• Educate provider teams on disease state, CAR-T mechanism, myeloma landscape, safety, manufacturing processes, and patient management considerations.
• Support implementation of cell therapy infusions in infusion centers by timely provider support.
• Gather insights from site leadership and communicate with medical leadership and partners.
• Identify data gaps with External Scientific Experts to inform medical affairs strategy.
• Identify opportunities to partner with HCPs on disease state initiatives and ISR in line with scientific interests.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Commercial, and R&D; represent at congresses with scientific exchange.
