Job summary

Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialty chemical products, seeks a Supply Chain Manager to own MRP/MPS planning and execution on-site in Novi. You will manage Sage X3 MRP/MPS, coordinate demand, forecasts and inventory, and drive OTIF performance across make-to-stock and make-to-order lines.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing planning, strong Excel and data analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate across office and shop-floor teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, manufacturing, business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, materials management, production scheduling, or related function.
• Strong working knowledge of MRP and MPS concepts and processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze large amounts of operational data.
• Ability to work effectively with both office personnel and manufacturing-floor personnel.

Responsibilities

• Lead MRP/MPS planning and scheduling processes.
• Own Sage X3 MRP/MPS functionality for the business.
• Ensure demand, forecasts, sales orders, inventory and production data are reflected in planning; OTIF as primary metric.
• Develop and maintain master production scheduling balancing demand and capacity.
• Support scheduling of aerosol filling, assembly, packaging, and other operations.
• Establish planning rules for make-to-stock and make-to-order products.
• Collaborate with Purchasing on parameters and supplier lead times.
• Identify excess/obsolete inventory and coordinate actions with Purchasing and Finance.
• Improve inventory accuracy and planning via better data and processes.
• Institute supplier evaluations to monitor delivery reliability.
• Manage off-site inventory at 3PL and bulk storage.
• Oversee Shipping department resources and processes.
