Job summary

GE HealthCare seeks a Mechanical Engineer based in Florence, SC to design and analyze superconducting magnets for MRI systems. You will work with cross‑functional teams across the product life cycle, performing mechanical, structural, and thermodynamic design, followed by analysis, documentation, prototyping, testing, verification and integration.

Responsibilities include preparing 2D/3D CAD drawings and models, engineering change notices, BOMs, and leading prototype builds.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of mechanical design, analysis, and verification experience.
  • Experience with FEA (ANSYS) and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical and structural design and analysis of superconducting magnets and components for MRI systems.
  • Lead prototype builds to ensure design intent and quality.
  • Design leadership for product cost, reliability, and life-cycle improvements.
  • Support field issues and on-site investigations for MR systems.
  • Prepare 2D/3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and engineering change documents.
