Job summary

GE HealthCare in Florence, SC is seeking a Cryogenic Engineer to lead the design, development, and support of cryogenic systems for MRI technology. You will combine hands-on engineering with analytical problem solving across product development, manufacturing, and service teams to improve performance and reliability.

The role focuses on cryogenic component design, thermal analyses, verification activities, and collaboration to drive system efficiency and cost reductions across the installed MRI

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent in mechanical/thermal/cryogenic engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with cryogenic systems or components.
  • Experience designing, analyzing, or testing cryogenic/thermal systems.
  • Understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer.
  • Experience supporting hardware development and design validation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze cryogenic components and systems for MRI magnets.
  • Perform thermal analyses, heat load calculations, and verification testing.
  • Support thermal and structural design of cryogenic hardware and assemblies.
  • Develop and document verification and validation activities for cryogenic components.
  • Analyze reliability and performance of cryogenic systems and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, service, and R&D teams to resolve issues.
