Job summary

GE HealthCare in Florence, SC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze superconducting magnets for MRI systems. You will participate in cross-functional product development from concept through service, with emphasis on structural analysis, prototyping, testing, and documentation.

You will perform complex calculations, work with suppliers and manufacturing, and ensure design integrity across lifecycle stages while seeking improvements to reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical and Structural design and analysis of superconducting magnets and components used in MRI systems.
• Lead prototype build activities to ensure design intent and drive to closure on site issues.
• Prepare drawings and models with dimensions and tolerances using 2D/3D CAD; manage BOMs and engineering change processes.
