Job summary

GE HealthCare in Florence, SC seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze superconducting magnets for MRI systems across the product life cycle. This role includes CAD modeling, physics-based analysis, material specifications, prototyping, testing, verification and on-site issue resolution.

You will work with cross-functional teams to improve designs, support manufacturing, and ensure system reliability.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years relevant experience in mechanical design, analysis, and verification of mechanical systems.
• Experience with ANSYS or other Multiphysics simulation packages.
• Knowledge of GD&T and fabrication processes in a product environment.
• Proficiency with Creo/Pro/E for 2D/3D CAD and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical and Structural design and analysis of superconducting magnets and components used in MRI systems.
• Lead prototype builds to verify design intent and performance.
• Drive productivity, cost, and life-cycle quality improvement projects.
