MassDOT in Massachusetts is seeking a Motor Equipment Mechanic III to inspect, diagnose, repair and overhaul a wide range of motor vehicles and equipment used by the agency. The role requires hands-on mechanical skill, the ability to write clear repair orders, and coordination with operators and vendors.

The position is full-time with a standard first shift (7:00am–3:30pm) and does involve mandatory overtime during snow and ice events. A valid MA CDL and related licenses are required.

Competenze

• Three years of full-time, or equivalent, experience in repair, maintenance and overhaul of automotive equipment, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Certificate or diploma from a recognized trade/technical/vocational school in automotive shop practice may substitute for one year of experience.
• Valid Massachusetts Class B CDL motor vehicle operator's license and a valid hoisting license (1B, 2A and 4G or better) issued by the Massachusetts DPS.

Mansioni

• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair motor vehicles and equipment for agency use.
• Write repair orders and specifications for new vehicles and equipment.
• Operate equipment as needed and report for snow and ice events when required.
• Diagnose faulty performance in gasoline/diesel engines and estimate repair scope.
• Maintain time and cost distribution records for maintenance and repair.
