Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles seeks an experienced Program Assistant for the Motor Carrier Processing Unit at SCDMV Headquarters in Blythewood, SC. The role focuses on processing MCS transactions for programs such as IRP, IFTA, and UCR, while ensuring compliant documentation and accurate carrier statuses.

Candidates must have a high school diploma (bachelor’s degree optional) and be able to learn SCDMV policies.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
• A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
• Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.

Responsibilities

• Processes MCS transactions for all programs (i.e. IRP, IFTA, UCR, etc.).
• Evaluates documents to ensure compliant submissions and verifies carrier status in FMCSA/PRISM systems.
• Maintains records and generates reports; updates customer accounts in the MCS system.
• Researches and provides customer records/reports for upper management.
• Maintains knowledge of MCS programs and reports productivity daily.
• Performs other duties as required by supervisor and the Chief of MCS.
