F.N.B. Corporation in Pittsburgh is seeking a Manager of Mortgage Underwriting to supervise the Residential Mortgage Underwriting team.

The role requires deep expertise in conventional, government and portfolio loan programs and to monitor daily activities of the underwriting staff. You will train staff on products and procedures, enforce guidelines, and work with the Residential Mortgage Credit Officer, Compliance, Legal and the New Product Development team to deploy new offerings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 10 years of job-related underwriting experience.
• FHA Direct Endorsed Underwriter certification required or preferred.
• Staff Appraisal Reviewer for Veterans Administration (LAAP) certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily activities of Underwriters, Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor and assisting with Appraisal Coordinators.
• Maintains accreditation in loan programs (DE and SAR) and participates in continuing education.
• Reviews and updates underwriting guidelines, compliance changes, and participates with cross-functional teams to deploy new products.
• Manages underwriting exceptions reporting and determines appropriate authority for exceptions.
• Supports Mortgage Loan Originators by explaining guidelines and structuring deals within program requirements.
• Responds to audits and regulatory findings and represents the bank with agencies and regulators as needed.
• Performs other underwriting duties and participates in risk management processes.
