Job summary

State Employees' Credit Union is seeking a skilled Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential mortgage and home equity loan applications. You will work with applicants through initial approval, gather documentation, and explain loan options to meet member needs.

The role requires 2+ years lending experience, a valid MLO license (NMLS) and strong communication skills. Some travel and hybrid work arrangements may apply, with adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ lending experience.
• Must possess the highest level of integrity and objectivity.
• Must be able to communicate with branch personnel, VPs, SVPs, attorneys, members, appraisers, realtors, etc.
• Has registered as an active MLO with the NMLS.

Responsibilities

• Originate residential mortgage and equity loan applications received through channels.
• Counsel applicants on mortgage products and collect required documentation.
• Assess credit worthiness and affordability for initial pre-approval.
• Maintain loan history notes in the Loan Origination System.
• Engage with realtors and other third parties to build mortgage pipelines.
