Job summary

Newrez seeks a Bankruptcy Case Manager III in Houston to manage complex bankruptcy accounts and ensure accurate tracking and reporting. The role involves handling increased caseloads, conducting deep research across PACER and related systems, and coordinating with counsel and internal teams to maximize recovery under the bankruptcy plan.

You will file transfers of claim, monitor payments, and perform discharge-related reviews while collaborating with Litigation, Foreclosure and Loss Mitigation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or extensive industry and related experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Mortgage bankruptcy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in an environment of frequently changing priorities.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle more complex bankruptcy accounts or increased caseloads.
• Receive, update and review bankruptcy information daily.
• Research accounts using PACER, AIS, trustee sites and internal systems.
• Prepare and file Transfers of Claim with the bankruptcy courts by scheduled deadline.
• Ensure that pre- and post-petition payment tracking is set up correctly in the ILS system.
• Monitor accounts for payments in accordance with the bankruptcy plan.
